About California Baptist University
The Los Angeles Southern Baptist Association opened the California Baptist College in El Monte in 1950. The first year, there was an enrollment of 42 students and that number more than doubled the following year. In 1955, the school moved to larger facilities in Riverside due to growing enrollment. The oldest building on the campus was built in 1921 and currently houses the Annie Gabriel Library.
In 1953, the California Baptist Convention took control of the school and it was chartered by the State of California in 1954. The first undergraduate degrees were awarded in 1954. The school became California Baptist University in 1998.
Today, the school continues its mission to provide outstanding higher education with a Christian foundation. The goal of the school is to create graduates who will carry their skills, knowledge, and experiences into the world to use them to help spread the word of Jesus Christ. California Baptist University Application Requirements
Applicants to undergraduate programs must submit a brief essay that explains what they hope to gain from California Baptist University. They must also provide official transcripts along with official ACT or SAT scores. Any applicant who has earned 24 or more credits must also submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Applicants who have earned less than 24 credits must still provide high school transcripts along with ACT and SAT scores.
Graduate students must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. They must provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Letters of recommendation and a personal statement are also required. A current resume and official GRE or GMAT scores must also be provided.
