Northern Arizona University offers its students many options for earning public health degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Not only can students earn degrees at the Flagstaff campus, but the university also offers classes online for students located in other cities, states, and countries. For undergraduate students who want to study on campus, NAU offers a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences: Public Health degree, which is designed to take four years to complete.
The undergraduate option is also available online, and students can complete the degree without ever stepping foot on campus. Students may also consider the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a concentration in Allied Health, which is a degree completion program. Additionally, the university offers complementary minors in nutrition & foods, community health, health coaching, and physical education, which may help students augment their overall public health degree.
Some of the classes students may take while enrolled in one of the undergraduate programs at NAU include Environmental Health, The Art and Science of Human Movement, Organization & Administration of Health Services, and Theories of Health Behaviors. Northern Arizona University Application Requirements
Students can gain admission to Northern Arizona University if they have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and have completed the 16 required college preparatory classes in areas like math, science, and English. In addition, students will need to send documents that include an unofficial high school transcript, a $25 application fee, and standardized test scores. Students with questions about the application process are invited to call the admissions officers at NAU with any questions they have.
For admission to graduate school, students must also possess a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Along with the official application for admission, students must also submit their official transcripts, which must come directly from the college or university that the student attended. At the start of the application process, students will submit an unofficial transcript. Some academic programs may require additional information.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Northern Arizona University has a program where students are guaranteed the same tuition rate for all four years of their time spent studying at the university. Annual tuition is $10,650 at the Flagstaff campus and $7,950 at the university’s other campuses. Western Undergraduate Exchange students will pay $15,975 for tuition, and non-residents will pay $25,270 for annual tuition. The online rate is charged by the credit hour. One credit hour is $470, and six credit hours is $2,715. Students taking 12 credits online will pay $5,428, and students enrolled in 15 credit hours will pay $6,733.
Students are estimated to pay $1,000 for books and $5,696 for housing if they live on campus. Meals are estimated at $4,838 for students who live on campus, and enrollees may need to set aside further funds for personal and transportation costs. For graduate students, resident tuition is $10,480, non-resident tuition is $24,484, and online tuition is $610 per credit.
Financial aid packages at Northern Arizona University are offered as scholarships, grants, loans, and student employment. Students must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year they want to receive aid like student loans.
